#Pilots

A technology pilot to decide using evidence

A technology pilot is a limited test in your real operation to validate an idea before scaling: what works, what needs adjustment and which evidence supports continuing or stopping the project.

A test tied to a decision

Testing before investing is not about building a demonstration without specific questions. A technology pilot is a limited test in your real operation to validate before scaling: the idea’s feasibility, chosen technology, connectivity, sensors, integration with your systems, costs and behaviour in the actual environment. Its purpose is to reduce uncertainty about the next decision.

We define success criteria, build what is necessary, test in the field and use data to decide whether to scale, adjust or stop. This reduces risk in later stages without committing the rest of the project. A pilot does not eliminate risk or guarantee viability: it is also useful when it identifies reasons not to continue.

Define, build and test in the intended environment

The first step is agreeing what should be validated, which devices participate and what result should be observed. We also define what is excluded. A connectivity test alone does not demonstrate manufacturing readiness, and a software demonstration does not establish that it will work across every process in an organisation.

We build and integrate the hardware, software and platform needed for the use case. Proven components are reused when they fit the objective. Testing then takes place in the agreed environment, with supervision and data review. Operating conditions and incidents form part of the result; they are not set aside to present a more favourable demonstration.

Document lessons and decide the next step

The final review compares evidence with the original criteria. Lessons, limitations and recommendations for the next stage are documented. The decision may be to expand, change part of the solution, repeat a test or stop the project. We do not commit to a commercial outcome or a universal timescale for all pilots.

If testing includes AI, data, permissions and actions are limited, with human review at critical points. If it includes devices, connectivity and integration with existing systems are considered. Deliverables and tests are agreed for each case so that limited validation is not interpreted as a guarantee about the complete solution.

We work from Madrid, Spain. To assess a pilot, describe the problem, test environment and result you need to check. We define the question and scope together before building anything.
